Making yoga a regular routine couldn’t be simpler, don’t be put off by images of youthful people in extreme postures often shown on TV or social media. Laura will assess your ability and ensure a pace suitable for you to learn with confidence, from a very experienced teacher. Bowen Technique is an awesome therapy that can stop the pain you may have lived with for years. Laura incorporates this into classes so we use our body in a more holistic way.
Bowen uses a gentle rolling action over soft tissue to potentially create a signal to the brain. 21st Century science is beginning to demonstrate a non-intrusive approach with no adjustments or manipulation can aid and balance the body.
Yoga has so much to offer us as we age there is no quick fix or pill that can replace what exercise does to improve life as we age at least half of age-related changes to muscles, bones, and a joint is caused by disuse. Even with heart disease lack of exercise is now considered a major risk factor.
We provide a friendly, stress-free, peaceful environment and warmly welcome newcomers and experienced students. You are most welcome to call for advice or any information you would like before attending a class.
Yoga should be for everyone no matter what your budget, and we try to reflect that by offering a choice of payment options to suit you. Whether it’s dropping in occasionally or attending every session, we provide in a location near you.
Laura came to England in the 1980s as a single mother with a passionate desire to change the world. She was attracted to Greenham Peace Camp where she met Swami Ambikananda. Laura began to realise a spiritual path was changing the world and yoga was a revolutionary act. Swami Ambikananada introduced her to Traditional yoga and Vedanta ancient books of knowledge on yoga. Then in 1996, Laura had a serious motorbike accident. Yoga became pivotal/central in her taking responsibility for her own recovery and future.
Laura plans yoga retreats and day retreats in the UK and worldwide which will include an African Game reserve. She is a trained Bowen therapist and appreciates the interconnectedness of the body. Laura will again be participating in the World yoga festival to share her wisdom.
Quote from Laura:
“Laura is a genuine person who thrives on helping you progress at your own pace, a rare find. She goes out of her way to improve your quality of life.”
“I was lucky enough to find Laura as a yoga teacher over a year ago at Open Age in Pimlico. She teaches a ladies group there twice a week and is very popular and well-liked by her pupils. Not only is Laura an extremely proficient teacher, she makes the lessons fun and varied as well. She takes particular care to demonstrate the exercises well and to help people achieve them safely and correctly. I am finding all the exercises that we do very beneficial and can certainly feel my flexibility and overall well-being improving. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Laura as a yoga teacher.”

“I loved the whole day retreat (even lunch) but I especially enjoyed the Yoga Nidra (Release). I love that Laura lets us go at our own pace.”

“I am the Honorary Treasurer of the BBC Club’s Yoga Section, and Laura has taught our two regular classes for the last couple of years, having been personally recommended by our previous teacher. Laura is a lovely person with an approachable manner and an appealing style of teaching traditional yoga. She will always tailor a class to the level of the students and is careful to find out if anyone has an injury or health issue that would preclude particular postures. Laura is very reliable and always turns up as expected, even when at times BBC security can make this rather difficult! I have no hesitation in recommending Laura as a friendly professional Yoga teacher.”
Graham Wood - Honorary Treasurer of the BBC Club’s Yoga Section
“Laura is a talented compassionate teacher, I have been following her classes for 10 years her teaching is deep, brings to the students serenity and awareness, is also fun. I strongly recommend her classes, especially to total beginner so they will have a nice introduction to yoga.”
“I really enjoy the classes! There is a different focus for each class and all levels are catered for. I can't stretch enough how important it is to have individual approach. I have done yoga for long time and it always amazes me how many particularly new students often approach it as an exercise and without a guided approach this leads to injuries. So having Laura's experience is paramount to all students progressing at their own level. Of course you get the physical benefit out of it too, but the mind must come first.”
“Laura has a great attitude, is genuinely out to help people. If you looking to learn Yoga or if you are suffering from any type of pain, I recommend you call her. Well done Laura - Wishing you lot's of success!”
“Authentic yoga teacher for all abilities highly recommend Laura. Try these classes they help us grasp what yoga can really offer us physically mentally and spiritually. Laura is a highly experienced teacher.”
